Most loved sofa colours of 2025

Modular sofa in a modern living space, styled in multi-coloured fabrics.

Colour is never just colour. It’s mood and memory, a subtle self-expression. It’s how we share feelings we sometimes can’t voice.

Across the globe, a shared palette is emerging. Led by a global design dialogue, encompassing movements like biophilic design, Millennial Green, and Pantone’s Mocha Mousse, these shifts are defining interior colour stories in 2025.

We’ve stepped beyond trend reports and looked at King Living sofa purchases across the globe to uncover the exact hues you embraced most this year. The result is a story of colours that are as covetable as they are timeless.

Pour a favourite tea, relax into your sofa, and explore the year’s most loved shades, decided by you.

Green is having a real moment

The allure of contemporary green shades is undeniable. Back in 2019, green was barely on the radar at less than1% of sofa choices. Fast forward to 2025 and almost 1 in 5 of you are bringing green into your living rooms.

Why the surge? Biophilic design and the much-loved “Millennial Green” trend certainly set the scene. But let’s be honest, our showrooms and campaigns showcasing the 1977 Sofa in lush green fabrics may have given you a gentle nudge too.

Beyond trends, green has become a colour of escape. It’s the soft moss underfoot on a forest walk, the canopy softly providing shade from above, the serenity of rolling hills at dawn. In a world of hustle culture that moves too fast, these grounding tones reconnect us to nature and bring calm to the chaos.

“Browns and greens are resonating because they ground us,” shares Alinta Lim, Senior King Living Designer. “They create spaces you want to fully relax into. It's no longer about simply following the trend colour of the year, it’s about curating a palette that feels human, expressive, and deeply personal.

Grey is shifting gracefully

This one was a real surprise. Once the undisputed leader, nearly 60% of sofas sold in 2020 were grey, and now it’s just 10% in 2025. While grey is no longer the frontrunner, its staying power proves its design versatility.

Grey is the colour of steel cityscapes at dusk, of weathered stone softened by light, of shadows that give a room depth. It’s not loud or showy, but that’s the magic, it allows every texture around it to be noticed

Alinta notes: “Grey brings a refined, architectural quality to a room. It pairs beautifully with metals, glass, and wood, making it a perfect choice for urban spaces.”

Your top grey? Jasper Sofa in Quinn Warm Silver fabric, loved for its subtle depth and effortless ability to compliment any living space.

Neutrals are your number one

The ultimate chameleons, nearly half of all sofas chosen in 2025 fall into this palette. Shades like soft beige, off-white, and sand lighten and calm a space, layer beautifully with textures, and make styling effortless. In 2019, only 15% of you chose a neutral sofa and now it’s almost one in every two.

Neutrals are the canvas every interior style can be painted on. They don’t shout for attention, instead, they invite every texture and accent around them to breathe.

Alinta explains why we’re drawn to these hues: “Neutrals give you the freedom to transform your space over time. They adapt to changing trends, different materials, and evolving lifestyles without losing their appeal.”

Your top neutral pick? Jasper Sofa in Whiteley Riverstone: Understated, versatile, and effortlessly timeless.

Holding a quiet confidence, blue hues represent almost 10% of your fabric sofa choices in 2025, neither surging nor fading.

Blue brings a sense of openness and calm, adapting as effortlessly to bold statements as it does to subtle backdrops. It’s the endless horizon of a summer sky, the gentle rhythm of waves rolling onto the shore, the soothing depth of water that invites you to pause and breathe. From soft sky tones to deep navy, it offers endless styling possibilities.

“Blue has a calm elegance,” says Alinta. “It works equally well as a neutral backdrop or a bold statement, depending on the depth of tone you choose.”

Brown is the quiet luxury you love

At 6.6%, brown is making a quiet return, offering warmth and depth in modern interiors. Chocolate, chestnut, and caramel tones work effortlessly with textural fabrics and leathers, gently wrapping a room in familiarity and ease.

“Brown creates a grounded, lived-in feel,” says Alinta. “It’s timeless, and also has that earthy natural appeal that many of us are looking to incorporate into our home.”

Leather tells a timeless story

While fabric sofas evolved with shifting trends, leather remains remarkably consistent. In 2025, your choices prove that classic tones never lose their appeal.

Brown leads, representing 53% of all leather sofas, a reflection of its enduring warmth and sophistication. Neutrals follow at 24%, bringing versatility and understated elegance. Grey holds at 11%, offering a contemporary edge without overpowering a space.
