This Role is for You If...

You're a content creator at heart — someone who moves between a shoot brief and a performance dashboard without missing a beat. You think visually, write with intention, and understand instinctively how a story needs to shift depending on the platform, the audience, and the moment. You've led productions from concept through to delivery, you know your way around a PR brief, and you bring genuine craft to everything you make. And above all, you understand that every piece of content ultimately exists to serve the customer — to inspire, inform, and deepen their connection with the brand.

This is a 12-month parental leave contract — and it's a genuinely exciting one. As our Content & Communications Manager, you'll shape the voice and visual identity of one of Australia's most loved design brands across owned, earned, and paid channels globally. You'll work closely with the Content & Communications Lead, collaborate with global agency partners, and contribute to the stories we tell about our products, our people, and our world — always with the customer experience at the centre.

What You'll Be Doing

No two days look the same. You might start the week reviewing performance reports and pulling insights to shape the next campaign, move into a studio shoot by midweek, spend an afternoon briefing an agency partner on an influencer activation, and close out the week reviewing product enrichment assets before they go live on the website. You'll move fluidly between the strategic and the hands-on — always asking how each piece of content serves the customer — and you'll enjoy doing it.
  • Owning end-to-end content production — from ideation, storyboarding, and shoot coordination through to post-production delivery across owned, earned, and paid channels
  • Leading and supporting location and studio shoots; conducting interviews with internal spokespeople, thought leaders, and KOLs
  • Briefing internal creatives and external partners, ensuring all content aligns with brand guidelines, tone of voice, and SEO best practice
  • Serving as a key agency contact across PR, influencer and KOL activations, events, and media requests
  • Managing deep etch shoots and collaborating with the Senior Content Writer to deliver product enrichment assets to the eCommerce team
  • Supporting community management across King Living's social platforms, working with the Customer Reputation Team on responses and resolutions
  • Tracking and reporting on content performance metrics; optimising content for platform, SEO, and ongoing relevance
  • Working cross-functionally with Marketing, eCommerce, Retail, Product Design, and Customer Service teams
What You Bring

You don't need to have done every single thing on this list — but the best version of this role looks like someone who brings most of it, and is genuinely excited to grow into the rest.
  • 4–5 years' experience in content, communications, or a marketing role with real production responsibility
  • A visual storyteller with a journalistic mindset — you create content that earns attention and moves people
  • A deep understanding of the customer journey and how content influences decision-making at every stage
  • Hands-on production experience across photography, videography, and digital content formats
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, and post-production workflows
  • Confidence with content marketing metrics, SEO, SEM Rush, and Google Analytics
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects across a fast-moving calendar
  • A collaborative, can-do approach — you're as comfortable in a briefing room as you are on a shoot
  • A university degree in a creative discipline or marketing is highly regarded, but not essential
