The Opportunity We're looking for a Senior Content Writer to join our Marketing team on a 2-month contract with the potential for extension, based at our Design & Support Centre in Sydney. This is a role for a writer who thinks strategically — someone who understands that great content isn't just beautifully crafted, it's built to be discovered.
Sitting at the intersection of brand storytelling and search strategy, you'll work closely with our SEO & AI Discovery Manager to translate insights into high-performing content across King Living's global owned channels. You'll also lead and mentor one direct report, setting the editorial standard for the team and owning content workflow end-to-end. The Role - Develop and lead a search-informed content strategy and editorial calendar that drives organic traffic, brand engagement, and discoverability across global markets
- Translate keyword research, topical authority frameworks, and AI discovery insights into actionable content briefs, roadmaps, and campaign narratives
- Write and optimise journal articles, product and website copy, landing pages, and editorial content with a consistent focus on search intent, entity optimisation, and content architecture
- Structure content for AI-generated answer ecosystems — including ChatGPT, Gemini, and AI Overviews — applying AEO principles to improve King Living's inclusion and citation across LLM platforms
- Lead eDM copy development across trade, nurture, post-purchase, and ad-hoc campaigns
- Define campaign messaging frameworks that connect brand storytelling with product differentiation across social, SEO, video, email, print, and digital
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Digital Content Writer, reviewing outputs and building editorial capability
- Own end-to-end content workflow from brief intake to final sign-off, leveraging AI tools to accelerate production without compromising quality
About You - 5+ years of content marketing, copywriting, or content strategy experience — ideally within a premium retail or design-led brand environment
- A proven track record developing search-led content strategies that drive organic traffic, engagement, and revenue
- Deep working knowledge of SEO and GEO principles — including entity optimisation, content architecture, search intent, and AI-driven discovery ecosystems
- Demonstrated experience working alongside or embedded within an SEO function, translating technical requirements into compelling editorial content
- Exceptional copywriting and editing ability — sharp storytelling instincts, a strong editorial voice, and meticulous attention to tone and accuracy
- Confident using AI tools to optimise content creation and streamline workflows while maintaining editorial rigour
- Strong stakeholder management skills with experience working cross-functionally across marketing, eCommerce, product, and retail teams
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Relevant tertiary degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related discipline
