Inside the Luxury Weaves Fabric Collection

In design, the quietest elements often speak the loudest. A subtle shift in texture. A softened palette that changes with the afternoon light. A fabric that feels alive under your fingertips.

Our new Luxury Weaves Collection embraces this philosophy wholeheartedly, exploring tactility, tone and sensory richness designed to elevate the way you experience furniture.

For King Living Head of Textile Design, Sebastian Nash, this collection is the culmination of an idea rooted in understated elegance.

“The vision was to create a collection defined by tactility and quiet luxury. Each fabric was developed with a distinct personality, but with a shared design language that allows them to coexist harmoniously and layer effortlessly in a space.”

What emerges is a considered material palette, calm, intricate and deeply refined, crafted to support timeless, intentional living.

A palette grounded in Australia’s natural beauty

Together, the fabrics in the Luxury Weaves Collection form an elevated material palette that supports interior storytelling while offering designers and customers complete freedom to mix, match and build refined tonal compositions.

The collection includes:

  • Burlington Fabric
A refined textured plain designed as a grounding base for layered, tonal interiors
  • Charleston Fabric
A tightly woven matte plain that introduces soft depth without visual distraction.
  • Lexington Fabric
A rustic multi tonal bouclé with mosaic dimension and subtle movement.
  • Scottsdale Fabric
A richly structured bouclé with architectural presence and expressive character.
  • Macarthur Fabric (coming soon)
luminous Australian Merino wool velvet offering exceptional softness, richness and durability.
  • Additional Whiteley Fabric Colours
New warm and contemporary tones that expand the versatility of the longstanding Whiteley favourite.

Sebastian explains, at the heart of each design is an Australian sensibility, organic, warm and inherently serene.

“The palette is grounded in the Australian environment with colours drawn from clay, sandstone, coastal light and muted botanicals.”

From sandstone neutrals to warm clay undertones, each textile captures the softened tones of place and landscape. The focus, Sebastian shares, was on yarns with inherent personality, textures that move, breathe, and shift with natural light.

Australian wool, linen and cotton bring warmth and natural tactility, grounding interiors in a palette that feels authentic and connected to nature.

Bouclé reimagined: Scottdale and Lexington

Two statement designsScottsdale and Lexington, bring a distinct character to the collection.

“Scottsdale and Lexington use bouclé yarns that have been intentionally blended with multi-tonal fibres, which gives the pattern a dimensional, almost woven-mosaic quality.”

Looped bouclé yarns sit against tighter, flatter threads, creating a textural interplay that shifts subtly in the light. The effect is sculptural yet soft, ideal for designs like the Zaza or Fleur Sofa, where form and texture work in harmony to create presence without overpowering a space.

These fabrics capture movement, shadow and depth, bringing expressive yet grounded character to your furniture.

Quiet anchors: Charleston and Burlington

With so much sensory depth across the range, the collection needed grounding elements, fabrics that could support layering without competing with feature textures. Charleston and Burlington do exactly that.

They act as the grounding elements. Both plains feature tight, calibrated weaves that create a subtle matte texture. Sebastian explained. They provide a balanced counterpoint to the more expressive bouclés and velvets, allowing designers to layer tone and texture without overwhelming the space.

Styled with Macarthur Velvet or the rustic quality of Scottsdale, they create beautifully balanced compositions of light, shadow and texture.

Best-selling Whiteley reinterpreted with warmth

Whiteley has long been a favourite in the King Living textile family, known for its refined weave and versatility. The introduction of four new colourways, including Silkstone, Artisan Truffle, Natural Blush and Whispering Dunes, brings a more grounded, contemporary expression.

Sebastian shares the intent:

“The new palette was developed to introduce a warmer, more grounded expression compared with the cooler tones of the first and second generations of Whiteley.”

From Silkstone’s soft sandy neutrality to Artisan Truffle’s’ nuanced blend of brown warps, mid-beige wefts and subtle black fleck, the expanded palette reflects the growing desire for earthy, nature-inspired colour stories.

A hero of luxury: Macarthur Velvet (coming soon)

Among the collection, Macarthur Velvet is a clear stand out. Crafted from Australian Merino wool, the velvet delivers a uniquely rich depth.

“Australian Merino delivers an unmistakable clarity of colour that synthetic velvets cannot replicate and a far softer hand than other wool fibres.” Sebastian explains. In a velvet construction, the fibre produces a dense, luminous pile with exceptional resilience.”

Breathable, stable and naturally temperature regulating, it is luxurious yet deeply practical, designed for everyday living.

Imagined on sculptural pieces like the Oliver Tub Chair or the Haven Sofa, Macarthur becomes a true accent fabric, one that transforms a room with tonal richness and visual quietness.

A considered approach to longevity

Responsibility is woven into the collection’s story. Beyond beauty, real homes need real performance. Sebastian’s approach balances the sensory qualities of natural fibres with the rigorous demands of daily living.

“We prioritise fibres with intrinsic performance. Every fabric meets our high standards of independent testing.”

Resilient Merino, bouclé blends designed to resist flattening, and tightly calibrated plains that hold structure over time. Luxury here means longevity, textiles engineered to remain beautiful through everyday moments.

Sebastian’s personal styling notes

True to the King Living ethos, the Luxury Weaves Collection invites experimentation.

When asked about his favourite textile pairings, Sebastian notes:

“I particularly appreciate the interplay between rustic textiles such as Burlington and Lexington and the luminosity and richness of Macarthur VelvetThis juxtaposition introduces a beautifully balanced sense of light and shade.”

It is an approach that mirrors thoughtful interior styling, layering grounded rustic weaves with luxurious accents to build rhythm and dimension.

When asked to choose a favourite, Sebastian reflects on the collection as a whole.

“I don’t have a single favourite. Each textile was thoughtfully developed to complement the others and function cohesively as a collection. What excites me most is the opportunity these textiles provide to elevate a room.

This is the essence of the Luxury Weaves Collection, an invitation to layer, explore and create spaces that feel warm, expressive and deeply personal.

A new material language, crafted for quiet luxury and designed to be lived with and treasured over time.
