"Our three most chosen fabrics reveal just how varied customer preferences are. Some prioritise durability, while others choose a softer, more tactile feel,” says Sebastian, King Living Head of Textile Design.
These are the top fabrics chosen for King Living sofas in 2025, each listed with the most popular shades.
1. Richmond fabric, a velvet-soft performance chenille
The top fabric choice for our customers’ sofas was Richmond, a durable chenille fused with world-leading performance fibres made from recycled materials.
“Velvet-soft to touch with hues inspired by Australian landscape, Richmond is machine washable and combines performance with beauty for modern family living,” Sebastian shares.
Richmond offers an expansive selection of colours to choose from, with customer favourites spanning rich greens, soft greys and earthy spice tones.
Most loved shades: Wattle, Eucalypt, Natural, Linen, Spice.

2. Leura fabric, a tactile easy-care bouclé
A delightful bouclé that resonates with contemporary styling, Leura is our second most popular sofa fabric. Crafted from resilient polyester with a tactile looped weave, it's machine washable and delivers year-round comfort.
The most popular Leura colours range from crisp whites and warm neutrals to botanical greens in both sage and forest tones.

1. Origin leather, a full-bodied Italian-crafted leather
The leading leather choice for sofas, Origin is made in Italy from hides sourced exclusively across Australia and New Zealand.
“A luxurious top-grain corrected leather, Origin is hard-wearing and soft to the touch with a full-bodied thickness double that of most leathers,” Sebastian shares.

Joint second among our most popular leathers, TrueTouch is a German-made, 100% full-grain semi-aniline leather. A true connoisseur leather that ages beautifully and develops a refined patina over time, it's treated during the tanning process to be water and stain repellent.
“TrueTouch proudly exhibits the unique characteristics of each individual hide, with less than 2% of the world's rawhides deemed of high enough quality,” Sebastian adds.

“Woven with a twisted yarn in two colours, both blending and complementing, the warp and weft conjure up the experience of cresting waves and sand underfoot.”
Crafted from 100% solution-dyed acrylic, Malibu has a 5-year warranty against fading and UV discolouration.
Popular Malibu colours include soft peachy pinks, cool blue-greys, deep reddish browns and light grey tones.
